Trim and tilt switch conversion kit for Johnson and Evinrude outboards. Many years of control handles have used a two-button style. Please keep in mind that they will NOT replace the old-style rocker switch!! Brand new OEM factory part (not remanufactured or aftermarket) made from the most recent materials. The Trim Switch - BRP (176530), located on the left side of the gimbal housing, ensures secure control at high speeds and protects the trim cylinder and drive unit from damage caused by the drive unit losing side support. The switch only allows a small amount of outward trim movement. A waterproof tilt control system makes it easier for one person to change the motor support at the stern of the boat. The switch can also be used to remotely modify the hydraulic jack plates. You may over-trim and lift the drive or outboard to the point where the prop begins to aerate and lose bite on the water; in this case, the boat's speed will drop even as the engine's RPM rises.
