Because the Chene anchor has a 45-degree angle, it has four times the holding power of other slip ring anchors. As a result, it uses 70% fewer anchor lines and functions best with a line-to-depth ratio of about 2 to 1. The slip ring's distinctive form also makes retrieval simple.
