Any seams or pleats formed during the shrink wrapping process should be covered using heat shrink tape. It fills up any holes that may have appeared as a result of the shrink wrap's shrinking process. Heat shrink tape is a type of polyolefin tape that has been heated and melted to form an adhesive liner. It has a dual-wall design, with a hot-melt adhesive internal wall that bonds well to both plastic and metal. It wraps communications, power lines, and most electrical wires and cables in a way that is both watertight and pressure-tight. It's also a more handy alternative to heat shrink tubing, especially if you can't slide on the tube. Any seams or pleats formed during the shrink wrapping process should be covered using heat shrink tape.
