Product Description
To accommodate new engine designs and individual boater requests, Mercury has continued to develop prop hub alternatives. Flo-Torq hubs have gone through several versions, including sturdier hubs designed to handle high-performance engines and models that eliminate shift clunk when utilizing stainless steel props. There were and are still combinations of components that accommodate a variety of engines and fulfill the needs of different boaters. Propeller blades were merged with a small central hub that was put directly on the prop shaft before through-hub exhaust systems ? and still are for some inboard propellers today. A simple "shear pin" or "drive pin" ran between the prop hub and shaft to safeguard the early drive train.
