HUB - Evinrude, Johnson and Gale Outboard Motors PIN Drum SUB 098 (VS-18) is the interface between the propeller and the propeller shaft of either outboard or the sterndrive engine. A splined metal inserts at the center of the hub mate to the splines on the propeller shaft. A cushioning device sits between this insert and the inside of the barrel. A propeller is made up of two or more blades joined by a hub.
