The usable life of engines increases with magnetic drain plugs that remove tiny metal particles unfiltered by the oil filter. Additionally, since the metal particles that cause oil to oxidize stick to the magnet, oil oxidation is less likely to happen.
An elastomer loop with a round cross-section intended to be placed in a groove and squeezed during assembly between two or more components to create a seal at the interface is called a marine magnetic drain screw O-ring. The tiny O-ring is one of the most crucial parts of many final products. Without correctly placed O-rings, product failure and leakage may occur.
