Sierra's new filter elements satisfy all three of these critical criteria. The 7900-Series 10 micron filters remove over 99% of emulsified water while removing over 90% of hazardous pollutants. They're designed to work with today's sterndrives and inboards and 2- and 4-cycle outboards. Water in gasoline tanks is more likely with ethanol-blend fuels, leading to early wear, poor performance, and component damage. With the tight tolerances of current gasoline pumps and injectors, contaminants more extensive than 10 microns can also cause serious harm. That is why having a high-efficiency water separating filter is crucial. Sierra 10 micron filters were tested separately to JIS, SAE J1839/J905, and ISO 4548-12 specifications.
