An electrical switch termed a solenoid switch is used when a low current switch activates a high current circuit, such as a starter motor circuit. The circuit between the battery and the solenoid switch is complete once the key switch is activated and the gearshift is in neutral. The solenoid switch turns on a heavy-duty switch that connects the battery to the starter motor. When the ignition key is in the Start position, a solenoid switch makes contact with the driving pinion of the starter.
Key Features:
- Marine starter solenoids outlast their car counterparts in terms of durability. In contrast to generally dry streets and roads, they are protected from corrosion due to moisture, salt, and the additional challenges posed by using internal combustion engines and electric ignition over water.
- This version has corrosion-resistant connectors and a high capacity.
- Performance satisfies or exceeds OEM requirements.
