A U-bolt is a metal fastener shaped like the letter U. It has a closed clamp with a pin or screw bolt closure that fits across the two ends. The curved shape of the bolt makes it easy to support around pipes or tubing. As a result, U-bolts are commonly used to both support and restrain pipework or tubes. U-bolts provide the clamping force required to securely connect the leaf spring, top plate, axle seat, axle, and bottom plate and are critical to the overall stability of spring operation. Because of their unique design, these bolts are also ideal for holding things in place that would otherwise be difficult to bind to a specific surface.
