Universal joints are primarily used for angled and flexible connections between two rigid shafts. It allows the transmission of ever-changing forces. Used to connect the propeller shaft to the gear shaft and transmit rotational motion.
It can be used in place of the regular UJoint and is typically standard on OMC Cobras and Volvo SX drivetrains, or drivetrains with big-block engines.
Universal joints are used at the front and rear ends of the Cardan shaft to transmit power to the wheel at different heights than the gearbox and rear axle. Even if the axle moves up and down due to the unevenness of the road surface, the drive angle changes continuously, and the universal joint enables power transmission and rotational movement at a variable angle.
Features:
- Universal couplings are more flexible than toggle joints
- Promotes torque transmission between shafts that are off-angle.
- Reasonable price with high quality.
- Easy to assemble and disassemble.
- High torque transmission efficiency
- The joint allows for angular displacement.
