It is an aluminum filler metal with about 12% silicon content which is often used in MIG and TIG applications and for general uses. The brazing alloy is a corrosion-resistant filler metal that flows freely. With welding or soldering aluminum alloys 1060, 3003, 3004, 3005, 1350, 5005, 5050, 6951, 6053, 6061, 7005, and cast alloys 710.0 & 711.0, Washington Alloy 4047 is suitable. This Washington Alloy 4047 has an approximate melting range of 1070-1080oF and a grayish-black post-anodizing color tint.
